2023 Paschal Golf Club Championship / Day Two

Paschal Golf Club 2023 Club Championship.

Saturday October 14 and Sunday October 15, 2023.

Open to all club members in good standing. NO Entry fee. Tournament includes golf with cart both Saturday and Sunday, and lunch on Saturday.

Signup sheets will be available Monday September 18, 2023. Players must secure their Saturday tee slot by Friday October 13, 2023 6:00 PM. Saturday will be a shotgun start at 9:00 AM.

Your Saturday scorecard must be signed by you and attested by another member (not necessarily a participant in the Club Championship) and returned to the club house by 6:00 PM 10/14/2023. Saturday Scores are used to establish flights (NOTE Saturday scores ARE COMBINED with Sunday scores to determine winners, see below). The “Cut” will be determined by scores and the number of players. Sunday tee times will be posted on the board outside the club Saturday afternoon / evening (ASAP). Sunday will be a 1:00 PM Shot Gun start.

Flights will be;

  • Championship Flight, group of lowest gross scores from Saturday. Plays Blue tees and Black tees.
  • A – Flight group of the next highest gross scores from Saturday. Plays white tees and blue tees.
  • B – Flight group of the next highest gross scores from Saturday, etc. Plays white tees and blue tees.
  • Legends 80 Years and older play red tees and red tees.
  • Senior 65 years to 79 years. Plays gold tees and white tees.
  • There will be as many women’s flights as needed. Plays red tees and red tees.

The size and the number of flights cannot be determined until the signups are complete. Legends or Senior – If eligible you must declare your desire to participate in a senior flight before the start of Saturdays round, otherwise you will be placed in the general field. If you are old enough to be a senior, but want to play in the general field (To be Club Champion) you must play white tees and blue tees on Saturday and the blue and black tees on Sunday. A and B flights will play white/blue on Sunday.

USGA Rules govern all play; local rules are noted below, and on the scorecard. Winners (Trophies are awarded to winners and first runner up in each flight) the lowest two days combined (Saturday plus Sunday) gross score in each flight will be named the winner of that flight. Winner of the Championship flight is the club champion.

  1. Hole out all puts
  2. Move ball one club length anywhere on course except in hazards, or greens. Ball cannot be moved from rough to fairway or closer to the green
  3. Areas marked as ‘Ground under repair” and/or mulched areas, white lines are painted on 2, 3, 8 & 9, take the ball out of the area one club length no closer to the green, no penalty.
  4. Lift clean and place ball if muddy conditions exist.
  5. Bunker play rules, rake available by the bunkers, play it down in the hazard as normal
  6. Red hazards for the following holes play ball one club length from where ball went out, no closer to the hole, One stroke penalty – Red hazard to the right on hole #1 / #10, behind #9/#18, Behind the fence on hole #6 / #15 – Behind the fence right side on hole #7 / #16
  7. Areas to play as hazard or Lateral Hazards (marked with red paint) if played down no penalty stroke, if ball is moved, play ball one club length from where ball went out, no closer to the hole, one stroke penalty – Ball hit in the ditch right of #2 / #11 – Creek in front of Hole #8 / #17 is Red hazard as usual.

Play off rules for tie scores on Sunday 1. Sudden death Holes 5 and 9, subsequent holes to be determined by handicap
